I am a musician as well as an artist. The guitar is my weapon of choice. I can hack my way through on a number of instruments but it’s the guitar that keeps calling for me. Its such a visceral instrument. I started playing guitar in my late teens. I played in bands and with various individuals throughout the 80s and 90s. Those were some crazy times. During that time I was also introduced to the process of recording. I loved it. It gave me the same feeling as painting or drawing a picture. I got caught up in the technology, the gear, etc as it overshadowed my guitar practice. I became fascinated with technology so much that I made a career out of it. A few years ago I started to play again. Now I don’t know what I’d do if I didn’t play. You can read about my transition back to a creative life in my blog post here. What’s interesting is now that I practice, play, and write everyday the gear has become far less important. Now don’t get me wrong. It’s not unimportant. Just less. I’m not completely crazy. I’ll be posting about the various projects, shows and of course some gear too.
